Greenland EAST Hydroponics 2014
What is Hydroponics? |
Hydroponics exists as the process of growing plants in sand, gravel, or liquid, with added nutrients but without soil.
How? |
We grow our plants by keeping our water timed, and kept at a certain temperature. We use seeds like you would do with a regular garden, but we just mix the seeds with nutrients and pH to make our plants stronger and grow healthier. We keep our plants inside, but we have a light that is timed to make sure the plants get the right amount of light so they do not die.
Why? |
Because you can grow plants throughout all year instead of in certain seasons and you can control every aspect of the plant in a monitored environment. Plus, the team loves working on this project and learning more about agriculture with hands on experience.
