Introduction:The ARKANSAS GREEN SCHOOLS CHALLENGE is a challenge created by USGBC Arkansas and is open to all public schools in the state of Arkansas. The intent is to devise and implement the most creative and effective sustainable practices for their school at little or no cost. For our project we have chosen to use the LEED for Schools rating system as an organizational tool to guide our investigation. These studies are meant to inspire and draw attention to the possibilities for the Greenland School District in regards to sustainability. It is our hope that we have laid the foundation for a long term plan that can perpetuate for years to come. It has been my privilege to work with the Greenland School District, and more specifically mentor stellar students in the Greenland High School EAST Lab. Please leave a post on our page with your comments or suggestions, or just a simple endorsement showing support for the work these students have put together.
